I bought two of these speakers 3 years ago to replace the original Monsoon mid-range component door speakers in my 98 Trans Am. Those were true 100w 2-ohm speakers and these were advertised as perfect replacements due to some claims about compatibility with different load (2 ohms to 4 ohms) systems. That part turned out to be false, and as a result I lost at least one half the volume in the door speakers. Since I am not really into loud music, i just left them installed and adjusted the balance accordingly. At the time new replacements for the original Monsoon speakers were not available (still aren't) and used ones were few and far between. The Infinity speakers performed adequately over the 3 years. Lately I discovered some used Monsoon speakers and decided to buy them in order to get back the proper balance and volume. After removing the Infinity speakers, I noticed that the rubber surrounds on both speakers had torn almost completely around the speakers. I never notice any bad sound, but then, remember, I don't use much volume anyway. Not happy with the short life, but then I was giving up on them anyway; and now the sound is back to normal full volume and tone. I would have included a photo of the damaged areas, but Amazon evidently prohibits photo attachments, go figger. So in place of a simple photo, here is a video.
